STEP FORWARD

TIPTOE IF YOU MUST, BUT TAKE THE FIRST STEP. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Marigolds adorning staircases, temples, and Hindu statues are another example of the marvelous, meaningful, yet subtle beauty of  Bali. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In Balinese, marigolds are called Bungan Mitir or Gemitir.  This radiant flower is commonly used for Hindu offerings, and its golden color is associated with one of the SUPREME GODS. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Every morning truckloads of fresh marigolds descend upon the towns from the the mountains where they are grown - like a FLORAL SUNRISE. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The magnificent marigolds LIGHT OUR PATHS and remind us to KEEP MOVING FORWARD, FAITHFULLY - FEARLESSLY.

RICE RICE BABY

Alright stop, collaborate, and listen.;) I got to visit the Tegalalong Rice Terraces in Ubud, Bali, and well, this is ONE HEAP LOAD OF CARBS you should definitely avoid. Don't get me wrong, the rice terraces are BEEEAUTIFUL (I'll be posting some more pics at some point), but the ORDEAL of seeing them is such a tourist trap. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ First, you have to pay to "enter".  Then as soon as you enter, you have to give a "donation".  And about every hundred feet or so after that, there is a MAN UNDER A LITTLE SHED asking you for another "donation".  It just felt so manipulative, and I would prefer to just pay a little more green to enter so that...

JUST FLOAT

Sometimes, when I'm truly living in the moment, I'm like a little blue canoe without a paddle, or a ship without a sail...content to simply float along and see where this thing called life goes...no rush. When I'm truly present, I'm reminded that my life IS a vacation, no need to escape.
