FEAR NO EVIL

This also happened...the day before Nyepi there is a huge ritual that takes place called Bhuta Yajna.  Youth from various Balinese villages create huge life-like statues out of bamboo and paper called Ogoh-Ogoh.  The Ogoh-Ogoh represent demons and other evil spirits that are paraded through the streets to absorb all the evil from the island, before they are burned in a large public bonfire, warding off any wickedness on the Island of the Gods.
